The Guardian Equity Management Executive Team

Guardian Equity has assembled a veteran staff of real estate experts representing decades of hands-on experience. Mr. Stone pooled their comprehensive, diverse experience in the industry and believed there was room for a different kind of management company. This Executive Team currently manages a group of on-site and corporate personnel totaling over 100 employees.

Trey Stone, President / Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Stone is the founder of the Guardian Equity group of companies, having overseen the acquisition and management of each property held in the Company’s portfolio. His background includes real estate finance and acquisition for independent real estate owners and operators. His contributions and achievements have received national and local recognition with his selection as the 2008 Paragon Award recipient by the National Apartment Association for the Independent Rental Owner of the Year and the Houston Apartment Association 2007 Independent Rental Owner of the Year Award. He actively serves on the Houston Apartment Association Board of Directors and the Texas Apartment Association Technology Task Force Committee. Mr. Stone is a graduate from the University of Texas – Austin with a BBA in Finance.
Gary Blumberg, Chief Investment Officer
Mr. Blumberg has over 25 years of property management, real estate development and asset /operations management experience with multi-family and commercial real estate firms. Originally trained as a CPA, Mr. Blumberg has served in Senior Executive positions with the Dinnerstein Management Corporation, Sterling University Management, Worthing Partners, and Rockwell Management Corporation. A long time participant in various industry organizations, Gary is a past President of the Texas Apartment Association and Regional Vice President of the National Apartment Association along with having been recognized as a Houston Apartment Association Hall of Fame inductee and recipient of the Texas Apartment Association’s Presidential Award. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration with Honors from the University of Texas.
Olga T. Omandam, VP / Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Omandam is a Phil. Certified Public Accountant and has worked in the multifamily industry as an Accountant, VP and CFO for over nine years. She played a vital role in the growth of her previous employer from ownership of just under 10,000 units to over 44,000 units. Ms. Omandam joined Guardian Equity to assist the Company’s projected growth from 3,500 units to a national presence over the next few years. Her responsibilities include oversight of all levels of corporate accounting and financial reporting, human resources administration and the Company’s general administrative functions. Ms. Omandam is a graduate of Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan with a BBA in Accounting.
Carolyn Howard CPM, Chief Operating Officer
With over 20 years of property management experience, Ms. Howard has acquired extensive knowledge of multifamily investment markets throughout the United States. Having held Regional Vice President and Senior Vice President positions with multifamily investment portfolios in excess of 32,000 units, she has filled critical roles in the growth of TVO/EPT Management, Metric Property Management and CNC Investments. Ms. Howard is responsible for the implementation and development of management and marketing strategies/procedures/policies, risk management, due diligence and employee recruitment.
Bryan Upton, Executive Vice President
Mr. Upton brings a unique background to the team. Upon college graduation Mr. Upton opened and managed one of the largest residential paint contracting companies in Houston, Texas. From this experience he branched into general contracting work to increase his construction knowledge. During this time he started a real estate investment company that currently has over twenty assets under ownership and management. His entrepreneurial background and real estate experience gives Mr. Upton the unique ability to comprehend the business from an owner’s perspective. This translates into better communication with our owners and partners, and a strategic vision to maximize value at disposition of the managed asset.
Elissa Stone, Vice President of Client Strategy
Elissa’s background includes over 10 years experience bridging business partnerships and building internal teams within the healthcare, staffing, and real estate industries. She stared her career with Robert Half International, a 3.3 billion dollar organization. Elissa ranked 45th in the world within the international company as Rookie of the Year, competing just 6 months in the yearlong competition. Her roles have ranges from Business Development Manager to Director of Sales, most recently as Division Director for Robert Half Technology, where she earned the construction Foreman Award for re-building the division within San Diego County. Elissa is responsible for new business pursuit and client relations for the management portfolio, delivery of asset performance evaluations, business development for construction and renovation services, and delivery of pro-forma/due diligence overviews. Her previous Fortune 500 experience has provided the foundation for the consultative nature and business integrity which result in a long-term trusted business partnership.
